Adoptable Dogs

TY:  Ty is a handsome, affectionate, rambunctious 11 month old. He graduated from a basic obedience class even though his foster mother has had very little time for homework. Ty needs a home where training will continue and with someone who will be able to provide him plenty of exercise, love and time. He enjoys off leash hikes in the country and is almost brave enough to get all the way in the water for a stick. He is an exuberant and delightful fellow who he sleeps like a rock and doesn't hog the bed!. Great with cats and other friendly dogs of all sizes. Please call his foster mom Julia at 646-429-8882 with questions or to schedule a time to meet him

LADY: Lady is between 7 and 8 years old. This adorable 14 lb. girl adjusts well to any environment as long as one of her humans is by her side. Lady is equally comfortable playing the snuggling couch potato or bounding along off leash with you on a hike through woods and fields. Once she knows she is yours, her devotion and bouncing joy at the sight of you are boundless. She lives comfortably with other dogs of all sizes as well as cats, but her focus is clearly on her human loves. With questions or to schedule a time to meet lady, please call her foster mom Julia at 646-429-8882

LIBBY:  Housebroken, good with kids, dogs and most likely, cats.  She is well-mannered and likes to walk.  She is about 9-10 years old. Please call  315-826-7545 for more information on Libby

VANDERBILT:  This 65-lb male (Catahoula/Pointer/Aussie mix) was saved from a kill shelter when he was only 15 months. He had tested positive for heartworm infection. Fortunately, he was treated by a volunteer rescue group "Dogs on Death Row" which works to save animals in local shelters.  He is blind in his right eye, which makes him a little shy, so he will need some leash work. He came to Welcome Home Sanctuary Inc. after his heartworm treatment.

He is a loving, gentle soul who will adore you. He is looking for his forever home, which should be an adult and relatively quiet home willing to give him a lot of love and walkies.  He is good with other dogs, and seems interested in cats.  He is up to date with his vaccinations, neutered and will be micro chipped.  Please adopt him and love him forever!

Vanderbilt is being fostered by the Welcome Home Sanctuary.  Please call 518-325-1415 or email myspiritdogs@yahoo.com to learn more about adopting adorable VANDERBILT

GRACE:  She is the sweetest little dog imaginable and ready to be part of a loving family with kind and gentle parents raising kind and gentle children.  Grace loves children.  She is about two years young, weighs 25lbs, and likely will always look like a puppy.  She would enjoy living with one or more cats and maybe another gentle dog.  Even though she has had a terrible past, she looks forward to a loving future.  If yours might be the home Grace has been promised, please call her foster mom Julia at 646-429-8882

DIAMOND: Diamond is an 8 month-old 42 lb. beauty. In only 4 days, this gentle and affectionate girl learned to be housebroken, walk well on a leash, and sit on command. She is very sensitive to learning what you want from her. Her play with humans is very appropriate for a high energy puppy. She will let you take away her food bowl, rawhide chew, and toys without complaint. Diamond still needs improvement with K-9 socialization skills but as an only child you will not find a better companion. To discuss Diamond, please contact her trainer, walker, and guardian angel John at 917-549-9571

XELA: Not yet quite two years old, Xela is a beautiful pit bull mix. She's good with cats and is a lap dog, but doesn't do well with other dogs. She needs to be the only dog in a home where she can get lots of exercise. She is fine with young children.  As she was abused by older boys),  I'm not sure how she'd be with them now, though she seems to have overcome most of her trauma from the abuse. Please contact:  kjan@taconic.net for more information on XELA.

Animalkind Inc. is a not-for-profit welfare, protection, rescue, rights organization dedicated to the  compassionate care and humane population control of abandoned, feral and stray cats in Hudson, New York (Columbia County) and the surrounding area.  We promote non-lethal  prevention of an unwanted litter or litters of kittens through trap, spay, neuter, release (return), (tnr, TNR).  An altered cat or kitten is released into a managed colony. Felines living in such colonies are assured kind daily care.  Adoption to  homes providing love and care for cats and kittens is encouraged.   We also provide low or no cost spaying and neutering assistance to low income pet owners and help increase public awareness and education through the media, special events, and publications to promote compassion, respect, and kindness towards all animals.
