A Most Hypocritical Church!
Because we had both - previous to meeting: - been divorced against
our will, we were refused 32 years ago, this month, a church wedding.
In fact a well-meaning Anglo Catholic priest strongly suggested that
I take Doreen in as my housekeeper. “It’s the kind of thing that many
of our Roman brethren do”, he said. And then added “Rome is much more
understanding of such situations. But that said: marriage itself, for
you Father, is definitely be out!”
Well, how amazing that this
same Church Of England - thirty-two years on - has not only agreed to
a whole spectrum of ‘Gays’ marrying in church, but also – during this
past month – to a ‘high church’ Bishop, who’d divorced his previous
wife, permission granted to marry another! Yes, such indeed is the
changeability of a National Church which has changed so much in its
moral standards as to be an utter sham to any who have cared to study
its past fifty years of ethical teaching. Indeed, from such blatant
hypocrisy and double standards may the good Lord, spare and deliver
every reader!
