Due to the duration and severity of last night's storms
here in Oklahoma,
information concerning many of the animals' welfare within many
surround-
ing areas is slow in forthcoming. I have made many calls throughout the
day
trying to compile as much information concerning the help needed at this
time. Many of our local animal shelters, veterinarians, and volunteer
groups
are doing their best to substantiate as much needs as possible.
Volunteers for Animal Welfare (VAW), along with The
Humane Society, are
working diligently trying to gather and issue supplies that are being
donated
by Oklahomans. There are 4 Metro Location PetSmarts, which have been
designated as drop off centers for the incoming donations of essentials
and
relief aid. These items do consist of : food, bedding, and medical
supplies,
as well as many other necessities that people are donating such as:
collars,
leashes, grooming essentials, and toys.
If anyone is seeking further details, information, or if
anyone may be need-
ing help in trying to locate a loved one within the area, please feel
free to
E-Mail me at [email protected] ,
and I will do my best to try and reach them.
Due to power lines being down, the overload of calls for emergency need,
along with the cell phone use being limited, trying to reach someone
here in
Oklahoma was not a task very easy to achieve throughout this day
