Last week we featured an article which listed several
organizations which are providing disaster relief for the animal victims
of those countries affected by the Tsunamis of December 26th. In that
article the addresses were given where you can make a donation to help the
many domestic animals who were left without food, shelter and caretakers.
Please refer to Animal Writes of Sunday, January 2, or if you missed it,
please email us.
FARM, the Farm Animal Reform Movement, is engaged in a
campaign to raise at least 80 thousand dollars to assist in providing
vegetarian food and other relief for humans affected by the disaster. FARM
is working directly with eleven Indian vegetarian grassroots coalitions in
this effort through FARM's Sabina Fund. These groups are located in Tamil
Nadu, where 8,000 people have been killed and 1.5 million displaced. Most
of these groups are already involved in relief work and have asked FARM
for additional financial support.
Please consider helping by making a generous donation to
FARM's Emergency Relief Appeal by either giving online or by a phone call.
Go to www.farmusa.org and chose the Sabina Fund as the program to support,
or call 1-888-ASK-FARM with your credit card information.
