Half of the cancers rats get, mice do not get. Half of the cancers mice
get, rats do not get. How fair is it for 21st century men and women of
science to continue to apply successes of absurd clinical rodent trials to
humans when such research exhibits evidence that such experiMENTAL data
cannot be applied to another rodent?
Animal research is a betrayal to animals. Animal research is a betrayal to humans who rely upon that research, with emphasis applied to the "lie" in rely.
Did you ever see such a sight in your life,
As three blind mice? See how they run!
- English Nursery Rhyme, 1609
The March 30, 2017 issue of Behavioral Brain Research included
two new tales (studies) which titles would have been funny had they not have
revealed the sadistic and pointless intent of out-of-control children gone
mad.
1) "Mice Subjected to Uncontrollable Electric Shocks Show Depression-like
Depression Irrespective of Their State of Helplessness"
Scientists wrote:
"Mice showed increased anxiety..."
2) "Experimentally-induced Diabetes worsens Neuropathology"
Scientists wrote:
"Experimentally-induced diabetes in transgenic mice exacerbates
neuropthology (such as Alzheimer's).."
For mice, these are "tales" of a Twilight Zone" in which immature
(pre-adolescent) men have gone mad.
This past Tuesday (March 28, 2017) the New York Times (Science
Section) reported FDA approval of two new drug therapies. The per-person
expenditure
of the first (used to treat rheumatoid arthritis) costs only $60,000+
annually, while the price of the second therapy (used to treat eczema) comes
in at the
discounted price of only $30,000+ per year.
If it works on mice kept in cages in labs, it should work for humans, right?
Wrong! Half of the cancers rats get, mice do not get. Half of the cancers
mice
get, rats do not get. How fair is it for 21st century men and women of
science to continue to apply successes of absurd clinical rodent trials to
humans when such research exhibits evidence that such experiMENTAL data
cannot be applied to another rodent?
Animal research is a betrayal to animals. Animal research is a betrayal to
humans who rely upon that research, with emphasis applied to the "lie" in
rely.
Betrayal is common for men with no conscience.
