Lifeguards contacted Marine Animal Rescue (MAR) about a stranded sea lion
located on Dockweiler Beach in Southern California.
When we arrived on scene we observed a 120 pound sea lion sitting up looking around. She seemed OK at first glance. We observed the sea lion looking for any signs of distress.

About 10 minutes after the top picture was taken, the sea lion laid down and suffered a seizure which lasted about 2 minutes.

With assistance from LA County Lifeguards, MAR rescued the sick sea lion
and transported her to the care center for medical attention.
