Reflecting on this new venture of Raw Christian Living and how encouraging this journey has been so far.
As 2019 comes to a close, I'm reflecting on this new venture of Raw
Christian Living and how encouraging this journey has been so far. It was
only in June that Raw Christian Living was born out of the passion in my
heart to unite Christian vegans and catalyze this movement for the glory of
God.
I had been vegan for three years and fully raw for one year, and I felt so
amazing - in my body, mind, and spirit. I have been tremendously blessed by
this raw plant-based lifestyle, and I want to help others on this healthy,
compassionate path of abundant life.
We had our first 7 Day Raw Christian Living Challenge group online in
September, with 35 participants. You can download the eBook with the meal
plan and insights shared in that class via rawchristianliving.com.
Then we had our first retreat in November on the Big Island of Hawaii. We
were a small but mighty ohana (family) that formed by the end of the week,
nurtured by delicious fruits, raw food dishes, and lots of aloha! In the
mornings, we stretched and exercised while listening to instrumental
Christian music then meditated on Scripture - Lectio Divina style. Each day,
we explored the island together, engaged in workshops about Spirit-led
prayer, Christian vegan apologetics, nonviolent communication, food demos,
and more. We also visited a farm animal sanctuary, learned the stories of
the rescued animals, and our hearts became even more softened towards these
innocent creatures.
One of my favorite memories of the retreat was when I was blessed to witness
a sweet embrace between two participants after a powerful healing prayer
session. Because of what was shared during the session, seeing this
interaction touched by heart, and the grace of God was beautifully palpable
to me.
Looking forward to 2020, I'm excited to continue offering rejuvenating
experiences with a January Raw Veganuary challenge group, more retreats, and
coaching sessions.
On a personal note, I will also be graduating with my Masters in Ministry
this May, and then I will have even more time to devote to this delightful
venture and bring you more blessings. To God be the glory!
