Food Empowerment Project

Your courage, vision, and determination stand out brightly as I reflect on all that has happened in 2019. Thanks to you, Food Empowerment Project (F.E.P.) has continued to grow for the past 12 years.

This year, I have so much to be proud of, and I have deep confidence that you will be proud of us, too. Because of your support, we accomplished so much, including:

  • launching the all-new VeganFillipinoFood.com
  • placing ads for free copies of Vegan Mexican Food booklets in Spanish-language papers like La Prensa
  • holding our fourth-annual Vallejo Healthy Food Fest (VHFF), where we celebrate the community, serve free vegan food all day, and have vegan cooking demos along with incredible performers and local exhibitors, with more than 300 attendees
  • collecting more than 650 backpacks for our school supply drive for the children of farm workers
turning National Ice Cream Day into an opportunity for anti-dairy outreach by handing out vegan ice cream
  • coordinating shoreline clean-ups worldwide on Fight for the Ocean Day
  • educating more consumers through media coverage about the worst forms of child and slave labor in the chocolate industry
  • expanding the free Chocolate App’s list of reviewed companies to include 850 brands
  • revealing how Safeway’s restrictive deed policies have an impact on the health of communities through our continued #ShameOnAlbertsons campaign

All our work this year and the efforts in the year ahead are only possible because of the support and action of supporters like you. We’re aiming higher each year so that we can continue to grow and thrive as an organization.

You give us hope, you embolden us, and you bring more people together to build this movement for transformative change. It’s because of your belief in our work and our efforts on your behalf that I’m asking you to help us with a generous donation as we end the year.
