Details on weekend deer hunting accidents released
DES MOINES Two hunters, shot in separate incidents over the weekend
while hunting deer, remain hospitalized in serious condition tonight.
Twenty-four-year-old Gabriel Roy Snakenberg, of Eldora, was shot in
the shoulder as he sat in a pickup truck at about 2 p-m yesterday (Sunday).
Iowa Department of Natural Resources officials say the shotgun slug
entered one side of Snakenberg's neck and exited the other side
Authorities also continue to investigate the shooting of 22-year-old
Matt Eden, of Robins, who remains hospitalized after being hit by a
slug at around noon Saturday near Palo, in northwest Linn County.
He also is in serious condition at University Hospitals.
