Hunting accident kills Mosinee man

KNOWLTON - A hunting accident claimed the life of a 22-year-old Mosinee man early Saturday morning.

The man was duck hunting with another person in a boat on Lake Du Bay when the 22-year-old died of an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound, Marathon County Sheriff's Lt. Fred Goch said.

The accident occurred just after 7 a.m., Goch said. The Sheriff's Department did not release the man's name on Saturday because relatives were being notified.

Police investigate gun at Pine Bar

Wausau police received a report of a man with a gun just after 2 a.m. Saturday at The Pine Bar, 1512 N. Sixth St.

An argument apparently started the incident, and a man was outside the bar when he said he had a gun, Wausau Police Lt. Mike Juedes said. Investigating officers were about to stop a suspicious vehicle when a man ran from the car, and police found a gun inside the vehicle, Juedes said.

No one was arrested for the incident, but police still are investigating.
