September 18, 2006--A Minnesota boy is recovering from injuries
in a hunting accident over the weekend. The Fayette County sheriff's
office says 12-year-old Michael Vang of Mounds View, Minnesota, was
shot in the foot while squirrel hunting.
Authorities say he bent over the pick up a squirrel when his
rifle went off, hitting him in the foot. The boy was hunting with
his father and two others in the Volga River State Recreation Area
near Fayette.
Vang was taken to a hospital in West Union and later transferred
to St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. The hospital says no
information is available.
