DEERFIELD -- An 11-year-old Chagrin Falls boy was accidentally shot in the face Saturday while hunting with his father and others.

According to Deerfield Fire Chief Miles Felmly, the boy was brought to the Deerfield Fire Department by his father, who reported that they had been amoung a group of people hunting in the Leffingwell Road area on the south side of Deerfield. They were just inside the Mahoning County line when the incident happened, Felmly said.

The boy was reportedly shot with a 20-gauge shotgun from a distance of about 100 yards, according to Felmly, and had numerous pellet wounds in his face with one entering the inside corner of his eye.
