Ohio Man Dies While Hunting Near Whitefish
By Myers Reece, 11-05-08

A 66-year-old Ohio man died while hunting north of Whitefish on Tuesday. His name will be released after his family has been notified.

The man was found dead behind the steering wheel of a vehicle that he and his hunting partners were using at the end of Striker Ridge Road west of Olney.

According to the Flathead County Sheriff’s department, the man’s two friends left him in the morning to go on a hunt. When they returned several hours later, they found him dead inside the vehicle. They used a cell phone to call 911. Ambulance from Olney and Whitefish responded and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following an investigation, there were no immediate indications of foul play.
