State Police investigating accident that injured
Local man shot in hunting accident
BEEKMANTOWN — New York State Police are investigating a hunting accident
that injured a Morrisonville man. Troopers based in Plattsburgh said Scott
Lamare, 35, was shot about 10:45 a.m. Sunday in the lower left leg in a
wooded area in the Town of Beekmantown near Florence Jean Lane.
Capt. Robert LaFountain of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation said
Lamare was hunting with a group of people and was allegedly accidentally
shot by one of them.
Lamare was taken to CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh for treatment of
his injuries. He was listed in stable condition there Monday morning.
No criminal charges had been filed as of Monday morning, but the
investigation is continuing, with the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department
and New York State Department of Environmental Conservation assisting.
