Child shot in hunting accident
An eight-year-old boy is in critical condition today after being shot in
the chest during a hunting accident.
The boy and his father were hunting from a tree stand in LaFontaine when
the boy accidentally knocked over a shotgun that had been set aside, a
statement from the Huntington County Sheriff's Department said. The gun
fired when its hammer struck the floor of the tree stand.
The boy was flown from the scene to Parkview Samaritan Hospital and is in
critical condition.
