Boy, nine, hurt in hunting accident
A NINE-YEAR-OLD boy was shot in the leg and hand when a shotgun was
accidentally fired during a hunting trip in Abaco on Tuesday.
Police say the boy was with three men on a farm in Sandy Point at the
time of the incident.
As the hunting group emerged from some bushes, one of the men reportedly
slipped and fell, which caused his weapon to discharge.
The boy, who suffered injuries to his right leg and right hand, was
rushed to the health clinic in Marsh Harbour and then flown to Nassau for
further treatment.
His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
