19-year-old man injured in Stockbridge Twp. hunting accident
STOCKBRIDGE TWP. - A 19-year-old Stockbridge Township man
underwent surgery at Sparrow Hospital after he was shot in the
stomach Monday afternoon in an apparent hunting accident.
Michigan State Police troopers were called to 4282 E. M-36 in
Stockbridge Township at about 3:15 p.m.
The man told police he was climbing a tree while holding a gun,
it slipped from his and hand and struck a branch which caused the
gun to discharge, striking the man in the abdomen.
He was able to use his cell phone to call 911.
He was transported to Sparrow where he underwent surgery for
non-life-threatening injuries, according to state police.
