WEST UNION, Iowa Two northeast Iowa teenagers accused of illegally
hunting deer are facing charges.
Officials say 19-year-old Zachery Tolias of Waucoma and 16-year-old
Evan Hackman of West Union were caught last week after a brief chase
near St. Lucas.
The Fayette County sheriff's office says the pair was using a
spotlight on deer. Troopers in an Iowa State Patrol plane spotted the
light last Thursday, and radioed the information to officers on the
ground.
The patrol, the sheriff's office and the Iowa Department of Natural
Resources team up during the fall with night flights to catch poachers.
