DNREC [Delaware] Enforcement cites 16 for hunting and fishing violations and turkey season begins Saturday

Last week, DNREC Enforcement Agents responded to 31
complaints and issued 16 citations last week. Most of the
citations were for fishing violations around the state.

Enforcement Blotter April 4-11 Reminder for the week: Turkey season
runs April 14-May 12 Citations issued between April 4 and
April 11 by violation type included the following charges, with the
number of charges in parentheses: Fisheries Conservation:
Recreational: Fishing without a license (3), Nanticoke River near
Laurel, Roosevelt Inlet in Lewes, Mispillion River near Milford;
fishing in closed area (1), White Clay Creek near Newark; taking
striped bass during closed season (1), Nanticoke River near Laurel;
using unmarked gill net (1), Blackbird Creek near Townsend;
trespassing to fish (3), Hoopes Reservoir in Wilmington; possession
of undersized white perch (1), Nanticoke River near Laurel; over
limit possession of hard clams (1), Frederica. Wildlife
Conservation: Trespassing after hours (2), Phillips Landing near
Laurel; operating a motor vehicle off an established roadway (1),
C&D Canal Wildlife Area near St. Georges. Public Safety:
Clamming in polluted area (1), Whites Creek near Newark.
