DE: Middletown man arrested on illegal turkey hunting charges

Townsend, Del.  --  A 35-year-old Middletown man is facing multiple criminal charges after allegedly hunting wild turkeys four days before the season opened.
Howard B. Carter IV was arrested at his home on April 8 after a witness spotted him hunting at the Cedar Swamp State Wildlife Management Area, east of Townsend, and reported him to authorities, according to Sgt. Gregory Rhodes of the Division of Fish and Wildlife Enforcement.
Carter is charged with possession of a loaded firearm in motor vehicle, hunting from the roadway, conspiracy, hunting wild turkey without a permit, failure to register wild turkey, illegal possession of wild turkey, hunting wild turkey during a closed season and failure to wear required camouflage while hunting wild turkey.
