Cruelty and horror at an Oklahoma ranch
One of the largest animal cruelty
cases known in the United States took place last month in Oklahoma.
The Humane Society of the United States and the Craig County
Sheriff’s Office witness a horror scene when they were called at the
alleged ranch.
There were piles of hundred of dead
animals and about 1600 alive but in deplorable conditions. The dead
animals suffered from starvation and freezing temperatures. The live
animals were rescued and taken care of. In the midst of this horror,
the finding of a puppy, hungry and dehydrated, gave the rescue team
a glimpse of hope and encouragement. David Bell, the ranch owner,
has been charged with animal cruelty, a felony in Oklahoma.

A scene like the one above is
hardly imaginable for the pain and suffering these animals endured
has no justification. We are called to be caretakers of God’s
animals, and David Bell failed miserably at it. Thankfully, there’re
people who care about God’s creatures and try to alleviate their
suffering.
