The Idaho House is considering a bill that would toughen Idaho's
animal welfare laws by defining animal torture in companion animals,
but members of the Senate have vowed to block it.
Sen. Steve Bair, a Republican farmer from Blackfoot and chairman
of the Senate Agricultural Affairs Committee, is worried that such a
bill one day might affect the way farmed animals are treated. He
said, "We need to draw a line in the sand long before they get to
production animals."

How appalling it is that members of the Senate so openly guard the
abominable laws that allow them to victimize God’s farmed animals!
It’s clear that they don’t care about the suffering of animals
because profit has totally trumped their ethics. Christians should
take a stand for God’s animals in the face of their unnecessary and
egregious abuse. This is part of what makes us good stewards of
God’s Creation.
