Our Silence About Animal Abuse Promotes Abuse of Humans

Sierra you have got further than me :-)
Coming up to Christmas last I took a Viva magazine into work with expose of turkey farming and told colleagues they might like to see where their Christmas dinner came from.
No-one looked at it, although they are happy enough to read OK and Hello.
They all know I'm vegetarian and some have asked why, but I usually get one of two reactions:
Well I would be vegetarian but I like meat too much, but don't eat it every meal, or:
I'm concerned re (human) health issues (but I think it's ok to kill animals so I can eat meat).
I have given up on these people now and am concentrating on church. Sorry I have no answers for you - good luck!
