Christian Bowhunters of America
Is it really Christian?
Comments by Frank L. Hoffman - 23 Mar 2005
Dear Kelly:
Thank you for writing and for your questions.
God granted the eating of flesh as a concession to the hardness of heart of humans, but it was never His creation intent or His heavenly will. We know this because of the comments He makes when granting a concession and from the fact that there is no death in heaven, and there was no death in Eden before the Fall.
Blessing food does not take away the cruelty and suffering that is involved in bringing the food to our table. Approximately 95% of all flesh sold for food comes from factory farms and high speed slaughterhouses. The cruelty, pain and suffering inflicted upon these animals is beyond belief and is absolutely ungodly. To bless such cruelty is like praising the devil.
Hunting, for the most part, involves people taking pleasure in the hunt and the killing of an animal. To take pleasure in the suffering and death of any living being is ungodly. If the joy was only in the hunt, then the hunter could use a camera instead of a weapon.
We hope this answers your question.
In the Love of the Lord,
Frank
