Christian Bowhunters of America
Is it really Christian?
Comment by Wayne F. Wheeler - 10 Dec 2007
I do not know who Frank and Martha are but I do not see you answering the questions with a true intent either. You also slant the word to bring out what your convictions are. I for one respect those who chose not to eat meat, that is fine but to condemn or judge others because they chose to do so is also wrong. In reading all the opposing responses concerning those who justify hunting I never once heard anyone mention the fact that Jesus Christ fed the five thousand with bread and fish. So is fish not an animal and are they any less important in Gods created world. I see Jesus sitting along the sea shore and Peter comes to him and Jesus offers him bread and fish. The people of Israel in the wilderness are fed by the Lord, how? By providing quail for them to eat. I am sure you will say that I am slanting what the scriptures are teaching. I take a literal interpretation of scripture and see no other hidden agenda other than the Lord is feeding his people. Yes they were complaining about just having manna and maybe you can say that He responded because of there sin of rebellion. Well I do know this He fed them with quail, He fed them with fish. I know that I am a Christian and that one day I will be with my Lord in glory and it is not based on whether I eat meat or not, it is based on receiving Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. John 14.6 states that he is the way, truth and life and no one can come to the Father except through Him. It mentions nothing of what sort of diet we chose, we need to respect each others views and realize that Jesus Christ is the only answer that really matters when it comes to eternal life.
You say its killing, I say its proper stewardship. I enjoy going out with a camera but I also enjoy a nice steak from time to time as well and I enjoy my vegetables too.
