Christian Bowhunters of America
Is it really Christian?
Comment by Frank and Mary Hoffman - 26 Jan 2008

Dear Richard:

No matter what is said in the commentaries (and we're not sure where you are looking), killing is still contrary to our loving God's creation intent and heavenly will. It doesn't make any sense that a loving God would create an animal with the same feelings as we have only to have that animal suffer and die.  And we know of no Biblical reference or commentary of Rashi where it says that hunting is righteous.

As an example of Esau not being righteous (thought not referring to hunting, Hebrews 12:16 says, "that there be no immoral or godless person like Esau, who sold his own birthright for a single meal."

In the Love of the Lord,

Frank and Mary
