If God is truly leading you, then you should also realize that His creation intent was that we eat only plant foods, which are far more nutritious and healthful than any animal food, and most importantly causes no pain or suffering. We also know that God's heavenly will is that there be no pain or death, for that is the way it is in heaven, and we are to pray for this heavenly will to be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Animals absolutely do feel pain and suffer just as humans do. And we know all the bragging points about marksmanship, which seems to be more an exception rather than the rule, from everything we've seen.
You should hear the stories from the people who have left the church and you would definitely see the hardness of heart and indifference to the suffering of animals that they have encountered.
