Mourning the Death of a Companion Animal
By Frank and Mary Hoffman - 30 Dec 2011

In Reference to: Saying Goodbye by Rabbi Dr. Charles H Middleburgh

Dear Joel:

Thank you very much for writing, and telling us about your feelings and experiences.

We encounter these same feelings from people all around the world.

You are correct in your feelings of loss, for when we allow our hearts, minds, and souls to bond with any other being in profound love, a part of us also dies, and it hurts profoundly. You are in our thought and prayers.

We have been working for over thirty years to end the hardness of heart that is so prevalent in the religious communities, and help them return to their core values of loving God unconditionally, which includes loving the whole of His creation.

In the Love of the Lord,

Frank and Mary
