Dear John:
Thank you very much for writing to us and telling us about Joey’s and your relationship. We know the emptiness that you feel, as we’ve been there several times ourselves.
When we allow ourselves to deeply love another being, we bond ourselves together body soul and spirit, and when they die, part of us dies, too, and it does feel like our heart shattered, but over time it will slowly heal. Your tears are starting that process, but you will always remember the love you had together..
We never got to know Joey, but we know that she would thank you for the wonderful home and love that you gave her, and that she’s waiting to see you in heaven when the Lord calls you home to once again be together.
From your writing we believe your companion animals are a lot more than pets, they seem to be your adopted children.
The love you have comes from God, who also gave it to Joey, so obviously He loves her and brought her to be with Him in heaven.
