Dear Karolin:

The fact that you slept for 11 and a half hours indicates to us it wasn’t really a panic attack, but rather a strong case of depression, which is part of your natural mourning process.

You didn’t fail Eini, it’s also just a part of the mourning process (guilt). You just have to realize in your own mind that you did the correct thing and these feelings will pass with time.

If images of abused animals bother you, stay away from them for a while. When the time is right, you will be able to handle them again.
