Address: 1 River Rd, Juniata Cty, Mifflintown, PA 17059
Establishment No.: p1015
USDA Inspection Report: 25 Apr 2012
Citation: On 04/25/2012, at approximately 0958 while I was performing a Poultry Finished Product Standards test on the turkey line, I found one of ten randomly selected birds contaminated with fecal material. The fecal material was on the inside area of the right wing close to the breast of the bird (Drumette). It was green in color, pasty in consistency, and approximately one quarter inch in size. I took regulatory control action by stopping the turkey line immediately, informed and showed Mr. the Assistant Plant Manager and Mr. (turkey evisceration supervisor). The establishment started corrective actions. This noncompliance is a failure to comply with the following regulations: 9 CFR381.65 (e). A similar occurrence was documented as noted in block # 6A of this record. Failure to initiate effective corrective actions and preventative measures could result in additional regulatory and/or administrative actions. You are hereby advised of your right to appeal this decision as delineated by 381.35 of 9 CFR.
381.65(e) Poultry carcasses contaminated with visible fecal material shall be prevented from entering the chilling tank.
