Review of Minutes:

  • The minutes of the previous Annual Meeting were reviewed and approved unanimously.

Treasurer's Report:

  • 2010 Income: $53,041.00
  • 2010 Expenses: $53,738.00
    Professional Fees: $275.00
    Internet and Other Expenses: $7,068.00
    Internet Publishing Services: $44,528.00
    Donations: $1,867.00
  • 2010 Excess Revenue: $-697.00
  • Cash in the bank as of this date: $3,878.10
  • The Treasurers report was accepted unanimously.

Review of Current Foundation and Web Site Status:

  • Review of Budget:
    • Income from Donations: $52,000.00
    • Expenses: $50,800.00
      Internet and Other Expenses: 5,500.00
      Internet Publishing Services: 40,000.00
      Professional Fees: 300.00
      Donations: 5,000.00
    • Contingency and Reserve: $1,200.00
    • Both Income and Expenses are running less than half of the proposed budget, but since the Frank and Mary Hoffman agreed to fund up to $52,000.00, no changes were needed.
  • Our income was up by $1,043, but our expenses were also up by nearly $3,000, which required us to cut back on our donations to make up the shortfall.

  • Review of web site and traffic:
    • We suffered a major setback in our web site traffic on 24 Feb 2011 when Google established their new algorithms. We are still trying to fully analyze the situation, but we have lost at least 30% of our traffic, mostly from people seeing our spiritual help and assistance, and from the youth seeking the truth about animal suffering. This loss is not equal across the site, mostly centered in the animal rights, religious, and vegan sections. The traffic to our humorous animal photo section, for example, is actually growing.
    • We've been on facebook for about a year, and haven't seen any significant increase in web site traffic or requests for other services coming from that social networking site.

Old Business:

  • There was no old business.

New Business:

  • Proposed Budget for Next year:
    • Income from Donations: $52,000.00
    • Expenses: $50,800.00
      Internet and Other Expenses: 5,500.00
      Internet Publishing Services: 40,000.00
      Professional Fees: 300.00
      Donations: 5,000.00
    • Contingency and Reserve: $1,200.00
    • After discussion, and Frank and Mary Hoffman's assurance that they would fund up to $52,000.00, the proposed Budget was  considered sufficient and accepted unanimously.
  • Advertising to Help Increase Web Traffic was discussed as possibilities in the areas of public broadcasting, cable TV, and search engines. Without having any potential costs and expected effectiveness upon which to make a decision, the discussion was tabled.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
