Had this boy remained in those conditions he likely would have died within days. Instead he was allowed to come here and get the charge every fish deserves.

It's hard to believe this is even the same fish!

A few weeks of love and proper care have made this boy nearly unrecognizable, and we're so proud of his progress. He still needs to gain some weight, but has really turned a corner in his recovery. We're confident he'll continue to do well and live a happy life.

Bettas are tropical fishes who need water heated to 78-80F, a cycled filter, a healthy fresh diet, and a tank large enough to swim, explore, and express their natural behaviors (we suggest 5 gallons or more). With these needs met, they flourish and show their true beauty and personalities.

In many stores, bettas are sold in small plastic cups and advertised as "easy pets" who do well in a barren bowl. Had this boy remained in those conditions he likely would have died within days. Instead he was allowed to come here and get the charge every fish deserves.

Please do not support the industries that put fishes into these situations. Always choose to adopt a fish in need instead of purchasing.
