"This newsletter would not be complete without reference to the publicity given to the cause by the media, especially vivisection, factory farming and bloodsports. At time of writing I do not know of the impact which recent programmes have had but it must have been considerable. They demonstrated a great widening of compassion which is growing with ever increasing speed in the consciousness of mankind, including, hopefully, Christians! Of course, if animals were not eaten in the first place, it is obvious that there would be no factory farming, neither would there be vivisection, or "animal experimentation" as it is now called, or other cruelties because hearts would be sensitive to the rights of animals to life and justice."
