The Fellowship of Life |
| | |
In September the Canterbury Festival of Faith and the Environment
took place in and around Canterbury Cathedral. It was attended by
devotees of all the main religions, which was objected to by some
'Christians'. How sad! The environment, along with its inhabitants, is a
concern common to all religions, and forms a link between them. There is
no room for the sin of arrogance which believes that one religion is
better than another. Indeed, we can all learn from one another. Love is
the golden core of all religions and must embrace all creation, human,
animal and environmental, as the Fellowship of Life has been saying for
a goodly number of years. No matter how great our knowledge of the
scriptures or of our faith, we are nothing if we do not love. Also, the
coming together of the different world faiths to work for peace and the
environment is surely an example of how all religions can work
together." See: (Transitional) FoL Newsletter - 1990 Return to FoL Newsletter excerpts by Margaret Lawson (1974-1989) |
