Sir, - I wholly agree with the comments by Gerald Priestland in his column of November 2nd, and have a strong suspicion that many of the 'liberators' are in the organisations for the chance to do violence and criminal damage rather than for any real sympathy for animals. If hospitals were able to keep statistics of the numbers of patients professing to be against the use of live animals for testing drugs for human use, and the proportion of those patients who refused to accept any drug or medication tested on animals, I suspect that the pattern would reveal an attitude of 'Don't do as I do; do as I tell you!'
