No more cruelty
Sir - Opinions are voiced, rightly, against pornographic programmes
on TV; etc etc. We should also voice our opinions against the horrific
and wicked treatment of animals in animal experiments.
The 'cosmetic' experiments should stop now, and the
experiments for drugs should go no further than the animal can naturally
stand as the 1876 law states. This out-dated law is the only protection
that these animals have in 1982! And even the pain endurance part of
that isn't adhered to.
Next time you sing All things bright and beautiful; all
creatures great and small; All things wide and wonderful, the LORD
GOD made them all - let us think what that really
means, please.
