What a sad little story of the nuns of Northamptonshire present with
their flock of 10,000 battery hens. Sad and distasteful.
I am not a member of the Animal Rights Group, but I feel, in
common with the majority of people, that the battery system of egg
production is both cruel and against nature. That this should be the
occupation of nuns fills me with repugnance. One wonders what St.
Francis would make of all this? Perhaps, now that the good sisters
have turned their hands to the production of luxury chocolates, they
may become a little more soft-centred.
