Creature comforts?
Sharron Hallett refers to the animals stoned to death at carnivals
in Spain. Pope Pius V regarded bullfighting as a spectacle for
demons rather than men and excommunicated all who took part in it.
Today, bullfighting is a multi-million business. The silence of the
Spanish bishops is a cause of scandal to the faithful.
