New Jersey Walk for Seals
Stop the Seal Hunt

Description

The Canadian harp seal hunt is by far the largest marine mammal hunt in the world. Every spring , for six to eight weeks , the ice floes of the Gulf of St. Lawrence and the eastern coast of Newfoundland and Labrador turn bloody, as some 300,000 harp seal pups, virtually all between 2 and 12 weeks old, are beaten and shot to death .They are then skinned on the ice or in nearby hunting vessels after being dragged to the ships with boat hooks. The skinned carcasses are usually left on the ice or tossed in the ocean... the life of these seals are taking away because of their pelts. This is not a hunt for survival not a necessity, is a hunt feed by greed and politics.

Mypointis.net is proud to host the second NJ Walk for Seals , coinciding with the International Day of Protest Against the Canadian Seal Hunt, March 15th. A walk to protest and also inform others about the cruel hunt that takes place every spring in the coasts of Canada.

This March 15th ,in more than 55 cities all over the world, protests against this year's seal-slaughter will be held .Join us and tell Canada the world won't stand for such senseless cruelty any longer!

God's Creatures Ministry is committed to spreading God's compassion to all He has made based on The Scriptures. Although we are a Christian Ministry, we encourage all to have their own animal welfare committee in their community. We extend our resources to those who would like to learn more or begin their own God's Creatures Ministry as an extension of us. God created us to have a vegetarian diet and commissioned us to protect His animals. Instead, we have exploited them for our entertainment, fashion, appetite and useless, torturous research. These creatures have the right to live as they were created to live. Because we live IN this world, but are not OF this world, we strive to bring God's mercy and justice to all. We live in God's Kingdom now where Jesus, The Sacrificial Lamb, The Prince of Peace, The Lion of Judah reigns. We look forward to that day when all of creation will be 'set free from slavery to corruption and share in the glorious freedom of the children of God' (Romans 8:21) where a little child will lead and guide God's creatures (see Isaiah 11:5-9).
