"Joyful Curmudgeon" An oxymoron?
No! I see all the beauty of God's creation and I'm joyful. At the same
time, I see all the suffering and corruption going on in the world, and feel
called to help expose and end it so that we may have true peace and compassion.
As I write this, it is mid-morning, and outside my window everything is covered with a sparkling display of ice – something that only winter can achieve. The brilliant sunlight that reveals and magnifies this ethereal beauty also will soon melt it away.
It’s almost as though Nature says, “I know how ice-covered walks and roads are difficult to navigate, but just look around at all this magnificence! Enjoy it while it lasts!”
This is one of the reasons why I love winter.
