"Joyful Curmudgeon" An oxymoron?
No! I see all the beauty of God's creation and I'm joyful. At the same
time, I see all the suffering and corruption going on in the world, and feel
called to help expose and end it so that we may have true peace and compassion.
Two major studies have emerged recently that show the vegan lifestyle to
be conducive to lower body weight. A Swedish study of 55,000 women and a
British study of 65,000 men and women both found vegans to have lower BMIs
(body mass index) and to suffer less often from obesity. Vegan food tends to
be lower in calories by volume. And since plant-based fare is likely to
contain abundant fiber, it satiates quicker.

Since going vegan over twenty years ago, my husband Frank and I have maintained a healthy weight while eating all that we want of whole grains, vegetables, legumes, and fruit – no “junk food.” Nothing could be easier! And I should add – going vegan is also good for the conscience.
