ALL around the globe people are desperately trying to save lives during
the COVID-19 pandemic. But,
sadly, not all lives. Driving along the highway on Tuesday I was passed by
half a dozen trucks packed with sheep and cattle, bound for the
slaughterhouse.
These gentle and inoffensive animals value their lives every bit as much as
we do and they fear death, every bit as much as we do.
Their terror would have been palpable as they were forced towards the
killing floor.
Instead of clamouring for their corpses to fill our freezers, isn’t it time
to show some compassion for these unfortunate animals by purchasing
healthful and humanely derived plant-based foods only?
