When BBQs Become Battlegrounds

Texas gatherings mean BBQ. At first after going vegan, we weren't even sure we could stand being around animals being cooked. Man, those meat jokes sure got old in a hurry. But I've got some pretty good comebacks now.⁠

It wasn't hard switching from cattle ranching to an animal sanctuary.⁠

Except for the part about having friends and family think you're crazy for going vegan and you can no longer eat at functions like you have your entire life. ⁠

BBQs can be a good place to teach people about the health and environmental benefits of veganism. People do have to be open to learning, of course - I've learned to pick my spots.⁠

We love bringing @impossible_foods and Hungry Planet Burgers and tasty sides to share. Y'all don't know how many times folks tell me they like them better than the animal products.⁠
