2 Chronicles 16:9 New King James Version
For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.
Most of us have an image of God sitting on His throne in heaven waiting for judgement day and that is when He will move from His position. This verse reveals a different image of our Creator; One who is actively searching. God is looking for those who are reliant upon Him and who gain their strength and wisdom from Him.
The problem is that Christians have learned from the world that we must be independent and strong in our flesh. We have yet to really understand our great need for God. If we could see our deep and profound need for an all-powerful, all knowing, omnipotent God, our choices and decisions would be different. With every situation that arises we would instantly fall to our knees in praise and thanksgiving as we make our requests known.
We so often say the words, but there is no real substance behind them because we are still doing ungodly things. We all have areas we have not completely surrendered to God. It takes us falling on our face in severe desperation to really understand the gravity of our need for God. For Him nothing is impossible….nothing.
Luke 1:37 New King James Version
“For with God nothing will be impossible.”
In everything God has had us do there is a purpose behind it and we always benefit from His plans.
As his eyes roam the earth he is looking for those who will trust Him. He seeks those who will obey Him even when they feel afraid or are doubting.
God knows His plans are good and He knows we will be increasingly blessed as we move through the obstacles that keep us from receiving those blessings. We have to be tenacious and readily obedient no matter what. God is looking throughout the whole earth to acknowledge those who are looking at Him; those who are ready for God’s assignment; and who are waiting for a word or direction from the Lord. These are people on their knees or listening intently for the voice of the Lord.
God is seeking out the faithful so that He can instruct their heart and be the power and strength behind their obedience. He wants to enlarge our territory and prosper us.
The eyes of the Lord roam throughout the earth. Will He find what He is looking for in you?
What are your eyes looking for?
God bless,
Marni

The purpose of this series is to encourage people to live as loving, compassionate, and peacemaking children of God: Jesus tells us to pray, "Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven." (Matthew 6:10) God tells us through Micah (6:8), "He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God." And we know from Revelation 21:4 that there will be no more mourning, or crying, or pain, or death. Thus, Christian living requires us to set the standards of these conditions here on earth for our fellow human beings, and for the other animals, as a witness to the rest of the world. To do otherwise is not Christian.
