2 Timothy 3:1-3 New Century Version

1. Remember this! In the last days there will be many troubles,

2. because people will love themselves, love money, brag, and be proud. They will say evil things against others and will not obey their parents or be thankful or be the kind of people God wants.

3. They will not love others, will refuse to forgive, will gossip, and will not control themselves. They will be cruel, will hate what is good

This verse is more relevant now than ever.  Although we have had corruption, anger hate in the world for decades, the escalation seems more radical.  The list of defiance given in this verse that characterizes "trouble" falls under Satan's domain of evil.

Our enemy is running out of time and he knows it.   It brings great fear which causes him to execute a more intense attack on the people and animals of the world. The threat of war is brewing behind the increased lawlessness that is affecting so many.  Demonic forces have been unleashed upon the earth with only one purpose ; to kill steal and destroy. The plan of Satan has never changed from the beginning of his fall until now.

God has been warning us for a long time.  His warnings do not come with the intention to cause fear but instead to make us aware we must prepare for battle. His warning is a statement of fact. when physical battles occured in wars, armies were warned of an approaching enemy; this is the same for Christians.

God has already told us what to do in the face of an invasion....stand and we are to stand with our armor already on and our sword and shield in our spiritual hands. Ephesians 6:13

13. "Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand."

We are to stand our ground and occupy the territory we have already taken from other battles.  We are to face our enemy with boldness and courage. Things are changing for the worse and we must be ready to stand in love, protected from the arrows of the enemy and our armor securely on without chinks that will expose our weaknesses to the enemy.  Hate is coming at us and it is God's place to warfare against the enemy on our behalf, but it is our duty to make sure we are not walking in sin or with an unhealed soul.

Take a look at the list in the verse and see if there is something you need to be free from. Repent and ask God to heal your soul. Then look up verses for each sin named above and pray God's word about it over you.

God bless

lamb-rightThe purpose of this series is to encourage people to live as loving, compassionate, and peacemaking children of God: Jesus tells us to pray, "Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven." (Matthew 6:10) God tells us through Micah (6:8), "He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God." And we know from Revelation 21:4 that there will be no more mourning, or crying, or pain, or death. Thus, Christian living requires us to set the standards of these conditions here on earth for our fellow human beings, and for the other animals, as a witness to the rest of the world. To do otherwise is not Christian.
