Psalm 29:11
New King James Version (NKJV)
11 The Lord will give strength to His people; The Lord will bless His people with peace.
What an excellent promise God makes. There is no prerequisite to this promise. This is just what He does as our caretaker.
It is comforting to know that God Almighty considers us His people. He surrounds us as a Father who protects us and what is even more amazing is that He wants to be with us
Right now I need that understanding more than ever. I need to know that I am being taken care of. This verse is extremely timely for me.
I have been through these seasons many times where I can’t take one more step forward. I am depleted of emotional and spiritual strength. It is then that God reveals that when I am weak, I am strong in Him. Leaning totally on Him takes the weight off me.
I know that every one of you who are reading this can relate to what I am saying at some level. Life is big and consuming and we need to know we can run into the all-encompassing arms of our heavenly Father.
God will give strength to His people and that is what I long for. I need His strength to get through another time of feeling hopeless and stressed. I need His strength to hold me up and show me I am not alone.
It seems that in these times when I am on emotional overload I notice everyone around me is also experiencing being stretched beyond their capacity. So I go to the One who, not only listens to my intensity and let me be as deep and expressive as I need to be, but He will comfort me with words of wisdom and revelation. He will go to that deep place where I feel hopeless and pull me out of the mire and despair.
God is our strength and He is also our peace. From this peace God gives we are better able to absorb His strength.
I have a new puppy. He is only 3 months old. I have watched him and seen that the world can be a frightening place for so small a creature. When we go out for walks I sometimes have to pick him up or draw him close to me in order to reassure him that he is safe. When I do this he relaxes in my arms. All of us feel like my little puppy at one time or another. And all of us need our Father’s strength and peace to get us through this life when are facing hard things.
My challenge: When you are feeling like you have nothing to give, allow God to give you the strength and peace you need to continue on.
Just ask and He will be there.
God bless
Marni

The purpose of this series is to encourage people to live as loving, compassionate, and peacemaking children of God: Jesus tells us to pray, "Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven." (Matthew 6:10) God tells us through Micah (6:8), "He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God." And we know from Revelation 21:4 that there will be no more mourning, or crying, or pain, or death. Thus, Christian living requires us to set the standards of these conditions here on earth for our fellow human beings, and for the other animals, as a witness to the rest of the world. To do otherwise is not Christian.
