True Christian living requires us to live according to Kingdom standards which bring Heaven to earth.
“Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” ~Psalm 37:4 King James Version
We serve a faithful Saviour. Not only does He supply our every need; He gives us the desires of our hearts. What about His desires? Does He delight in us and do we give Him the desires of His heart? He tells us over and over in the Bible what pleases Him. However, we hurt Him so many times by not loving others unconditionally as He has commanded us to do. He desires for us to live in unity. He wants us to have unity in our homes, in our churches and in our country. Sad to say, we are not giving Him the desires of His heart. How dare we get upset with Him for not giving us things when we aren’t willing to give Him the desires of His heart!
If we really want to make Him happy, then we will forgive the ones who have hurt us. Many times we tell them that we forgive them, but we really haven’t forgiven them. If we have an argument with someone and bring up something from the past which was supposed to have been forgiven, we did not forgive him or her. When God forgives us for our sins and failures, He never reminds us of them again and never holds them against us any more. How can we not forgive from our hearts when God so lovingly forgives us?
Do you have a longing in your heart to do things to make Jesus happy? Is His happiness your first priority? If not, then you need to ask Jesus to search your heart and weed out all the indifference, resentment, bitterness, unforgiveness, hatred, criticism and jealousy. We don’t have any right to ask Him for anything if we aren’t willing to make His happiness the first priority in our lives.
