Saturday, March 8 This year the MHVS
celebration of the Great American Meat-Out will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation SawKill Rd, Kingston, at 5 pm. Holly Cheever,
DVM, vice president of the Association of Veterinarians for Animal
Rights will be the speaker. Cost is $10 per person with a vegan
appetizer, salad or dessert to share, $20 without. MHVS will prepare
main dishes and provide beverages. For the health of the environment,

Monday, March 24 Trek down to the Big Apple for an
evening of comedy supporting Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary. Komedy for
Karma at Gotham Comedy Club will feature comedians Louie CK and Gary
Gulman, with Dan Piraro (deft scribbler of Bizzaro) as emcee. Details at

Saturday, April 5 Annual Meeting, 10 am to 2 pm, at
the Reformed Church, Route 9 and South Street, Rhinebeck. The Annual
Meeting is open to all members. A proposed slate of MHVS officers and
board members will be voted on by the members present (see
story) MHVS will use food as bate to bring out member participation. The
complementary cooking class features fried seitan demonstrated by Nate
Williams, colcannon by Jim Van Alstine and cheese cake by Jeff Baker.

Carol Kessler and Barry Mark in Catskill. MHVS revisits a popular event.

Saturday, June 7 Catskill Animal Sanctuary Shindig. MHVS helps our friends at the Sanctuary by providing food service.
Volunteers are needed. The Shindig features musical entertainment, farm
tours, cooking demos, informative talks and childrens activities. Call
