Amie Hamlin

Amie Hamlin has been a vegan for the last 21 years and a vegetarian for 10 years before that. She has been active and involved in promoting the benefits of a vegan diet. She founded “Club Veg”, which is a vegetarian education group, in 1995, worked in tobacco control to ban smoking in public places, and worked for two environmental non-profits.

She is now Executive Director of New York Coalition for Healthy School Food (NYCHSF) since 2004. She has been successful in promoting plant based entrees in schools and you can read about NYCHSF at www.healthyschoolfood.org.
